How Did Others Respond To The Volcano

And Has The City of St.Pierre Ever Recovered?

Response

There was hardly a response from others about the volcano. There were cars, but the radio was still something being worked on, there was no tv, just the newspaper.

Infact the response was so bad that Auguste Ciparis (one of the survivers) was found only four days later completely covered on ash, with no food or water. He was found by a group touring the ruins of St.Pierre

Recovery

St.Pierre never completely recovered from the volcano. The population definately didn't grow back to the way it was. As of 2007, St.Pierre only had a population of 4,590.

People have built villages on the land and live there. The city is informally called the "city of art and history". A volcanological museum has been put up in honor of the natural disaster in 1902.
